Short answer: if AI search is your whole job, you probably do not need an alternative. Peec AI and Profound are good at what they do. If price or access is the problem, Otterly.ai is the budget pick.
If AI answers are one line in a bigger question, which is "what are my competitors doing, and where do I stand?", then a dedicated AI visibility tool is more than you need. That is where the others on this list come in, including mine.
I make Kvasano, so discount what I say about it. Every price below comes from the vendor's own pricing page, read on 25 October 2026.
Peec AI vs Profound vs Kvasano, side by side
Prices as of October 2026. Peec prices are in euros because that is how Peec lists them.

Read the "How often" row first. It is the real difference, and it decides most of this.
What Peec AI and Profound do well
Both do one thing: they ask AI assistants the questions your buyers ask, every day, and show you who gets named. Your brand against your competitors, engine by engine, with the sources each answer leaned on.
Peec is the easier one to start with. The pricing page lists three self-serve plans: Starter at €85 a month for 50 prompts, Pro at €205 for 150, and Advanced at €425 for 350. Each plan lets you choose 3 models from a list that includes ChatGPT, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot and Gemini. Extra models are an add-on. Every plan has unlimited users, which matters if a whole marketing team wants to look. Annual billing is 15% cheaper. Enterprise goes up to 13 models and adds API access and SSO.
Peec also goes past "were we named". The pricing page lists sentiment, share of voice, citation share, AI shopping with SKU-level tracking, and a library of prompts where AI answers carry a sponsored placement. That last one is new territory and worth watching.
Profound is built for larger teams. Its pricing page has two columns: a free trial and Enterprise. The trial runs 50 prompts daily for 7 days on 3 engines: ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. Enterprise is a custom price with up to 9 engines, daily tracking, agent analytics, ChatGPT Shopping, an API, CSV and JSON exports, SSO and dedicated support.
If you are the person in charge of AI visibility, daily data on your own prompts is exactly what you want. Answers move. A new review article gets cited, a model update shifts the list, and you want to see it this week, not next month. Both tools give you that.
Where they fall short for a marketer with a competitor shortlist
Not on quality. On scope and access.
They only see AI search. If your rival doubled its Meta ads, raised prices 8% or got 40 new one-star reviews about shipping, neither tool will tell you. You would need four more subscriptions for that.
Profound has no price you can just pay. After the 7-day trial, the next step is a sales conversation. That is normal for enterprise software. It is a problem if you are a team of three with a card and a Tuesday afternoon.
Daily can be more than you need. If you report to your boss once a month, 30 daily readings per prompt is a lot of data to turn into one sentence. Peec's own FAQ explains the maths: 25 prompts on 3 models for 30 days is 2,250 AI answers. That is a strength for an analyst and noise for a generalist.
You write the prompts. Both tools help with suggestions, but the list is yours to build and maintain. If you do not know which questions your buyers ask, the tool cannot know either.
None of this is a flaw for the buyer they are built for. It just means they are not built for everyone who searches "Peec AI alternatives".
The alternatives
Four tools, sorted by who should buy them. Kvasano is last on purpose, because three of these are better buys if AI search is the main thing you track.
1. Otterly.ai: the budget AI visibility tool
If you want what Peec does, daily and on your own prompts, but for less money, look at Otterly.ai. As of October 2026, Lite costs €29 a month for 15 prompts on 4 engines: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot. Tracking is daily, and brands, competitors and team members are unlimited.
Standard is €189 a month for 100 prompts and adds API and MCP access. Claude, Gemini and Google AI Mode are paid add-ons. The page says there is a free trial but does not say how long.
Fifteen prompts is a small sample. It is enough to answer "do the assistants know we exist?", which is where most brands should start anyway.
Buy it if: AEO is your job, your budget is small, and you want daily data.
2. Semrush AI visibility: if you already live in Semrush
Semrush now sells SEO and AI search together. As of October 2026, the Starter plan at $199 a month (billed monthly) tracks 50 prompts daily for 1 domain, on top of the SEO tools: 5 websites, 500 tracked keywords, competitor analysis and MCP access. Pro+ at $299 tracks 100 prompts daily. Extra users start at $45 a month. There is a free plan with 10 reports a day.
The prompt count matches Peec's Starter. What you get in return for the higher price is a full SEO suite. What you give up is focus: AI visibility is one tab among many.
Buy it if: you already pay for Semrush, or you need keyword and rank tracking anyway. Adding AI tracking where your SEO data already lives beats running two tools.
3. Ahrefs Brand Radar: research first, tracking second
Ahrefs approaches this from the other end. Brand Radar AI, sold on its own from $199 a month as of October 2026, lets you research any brand across what Ahrefs calls "505 million+ organic prompts" in its database, and track your own prompts on top.
The regular Ahrefs plans include a little prompt tracking too. Lite at $129 a month includes 150 checks a month, which the comparison table translates to 5 prompts tracked daily. If you only want your own prompts, packages start at $50 a month for about 80 prompts daily on one platform. Ahrefs says on the same page that it never runs discounts and offers no trials, only a free tier for your own sites.
Buy it if: you want to explore what AI says about a whole category before you decide which prompts to track, or you already use Ahrefs for backlinks.
4. Kvasano: AI answers as one part of a competitor report
This is mine. It is not an AEO tool, and I would rather say that first.
Kvasano measures your brand and your competitors on the same sources every 14 days: traffic, ads and estimated ad spend, reviews and complaint themes, prices, new pages, hiring and press. AI answers are one section of that report. We ask 4 engines, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, the same set of buyer questions. We draw those questions from your catalogue and your reviewers' own phrases, and you approve the list before anything is measured. Every answer is stored word for word, with the sources the engine cited.
Here is what that catches. In our public earplug example, run on 24 September 2026 with 18 questions, Mack's was named in 44% of Gemini's answers and 0% of Perplexity's. Same questions, same run. Check one engine and you get a confident wrong answer.
What you do not get:
- Daily tracking. Every 14 days, on every plan.
- Your own list of 150 prompts. You get a focused set of buyer questions, not a prompt manager.
- More than 4 engines.
- An API or a CSV export. The numbers live on the page.
- Real-time alerts.
Pricing: the first benchmark is free, one competitor, once. Then $39 a month for 1 competitor, $99 for 7, $299 for 15. AI answers are included in every paid plan.
Buy it if: you want to know where you stand against a shortlist of competitors across every channel, and "what does AI say about us" is one of the questions, not the only one. You can run a free benchmark on one competitor and see the AI section for yourself.
How to choose
Ask yourself one question: is AI search your job, or one of your jobs?
- AI search is your job, and you have a budget. Peec AI. Self-serve, daily, unlimited users, and room to grow to 350 prompts.
- AI search is your job, at a large company. Profound. Book the trial, use all 7 days, and compare it with Peec on the same 50 prompts.
- AI search is your job, and money is tight. Otterly.ai at €29.
- SEO is your job, and AI is the new part of it. Semrush or Ahrefs, whichever you already use.
- Competitors are your job, and AI is one channel among many. Kvasano.
The honest version: if your title has "AEO" or "GEO" in it, pick Peec, Profound or Otterly. Daily data on your own prompts is the core of that work, and I do not do it.
FAQ
Peec AI vs Profound: which one should I pick?
Peec if you want to start today with a card. Its plans are on the page, from €85 a month. Profound if you are a larger team that wants up to 9 engines, exports and dedicated support, and you are fine with a sales process after the 7-day trial. Both track daily.
What is the cheapest Peec AI alternative?
Among the dedicated tools here, Otterly.ai's Lite plan at €29 a month as of October 2026, with 15 prompts on 4 engines. Ahrefs sells prompt-only tracking from $50 a month. Kvasano starts at $39, but it tracks AI answers every 14 days, not daily.
Does Profound have a free plan?
No. It has a free trial: 50 prompts run daily for 7 days on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, with no API or exports. After that it is Enterprise, at a custom price.
Is daily tracking necessary?
If you change content and want to see the effect within days, yes. AI answers move often. If you want a trend line to compare with your competitors' ads, traffic and reviews, every two weeks is usually enough. Ask yourself how often you would actually act on the number.
Can Kvasano replace Peec AI or Profound?
Not for an AEO team. It has no daily tracking, no custom prompt manager, 4 engines instead of up to 9 or 13, and no export. It can replace them for a marketer who mainly wants to know whether AI names them or their rivals, next to everything else the rivals are doing. If that is you, start with one competitor for free.
